Description

Cheap booze, hot bartenders, intoxicating juke, opens early, closes late. Its a classic New York dive bar in New Yorks classy East Village. Plus a working bathroom. What the hell else do you want? The East Village has been home to some of the most memorable Dives in New Yorks history. Places like CBGBs, Coney Island high, Mars Bar and Coyote Ugly made their mark on this neighborhood and its residents. The wave of trendy lounges and nightclubs that have invaded the neighborhood started to alienate long-time residents and even newcomers. With high prices and hipster patrons, the people of the East Village and Lower East Side are hungry for old New York. The seedy and gritty, but always open and familiar, home away from home. Where the bartender knows your name, and is serving your drink as you pull up a stool. And the bouncer doesn’t care about your tie or your construction boots  just your legal age and ID. So we opened The Hard Swallow. Problem solved.
